The results of a legislative survey sent to 45th District residents this spring show that the state’s budget and tax policies are top among the concerns of the more than 3,000 people who responded, according to Senator Tim Bivins.

“Earlier this year, I asked northwestern Illinois residents for their opinions about many of the issues facing us in the General Assembly,” Senator Bivins said. “In releasing these results, it is my hope that people can get an idea of what some of their neighbors think about the state’s most important issues and perhaps start a dialogue about their shared interests and concerns, as well as their differences.”

The 45th District Senator said 33.91% of the people responding to the survey said the state’s top priority should be budget/taxes, 15.4% chose jobs, 8.5% chose education, 6.7% chose health care, 6.5% chose roads/infrastructure, 5.3% chose ethics, 2.9% chose senior citizens issues, 1.4% chose crime, 1.2% chose veterans issues and 1% chose utilities.
