Senator Tim Bivins says he supports a bipartisan effort in the General Assembly to protect the state-sponsored Controlled Pheasant Hunting Program (CPHP) from being eliminated by Blagojevich Administration budget cuts.

The 45th District Senator says he supports Senate Joint Resolution 88, which encourages the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to maintain the CPHP.

“Illinois has a long tradition of hunting, fishing and other outdoor sporting activities,” Senator Bivins said. “Cutting funding for the CPHP, which has been in existence for more than 60 years, does not make sense because DNR officials have admitted that there are no net savings from discontinuing the program.”
