A capital construction program to fix the state’s crumbling infrastructure and to put thousands of Illinoisans back to work – without a tax or fee increase – has been passed by a unanimous vote of the Senate.

Senator Tim Bivins says the program will provide more than $67.7 million for 30 projects affecting 132.74 miles in the 45th District.

“This is a victory for the people of Illinois, after years of the blame game and a lack of trust. We have a fair and equitable program that the citizens of Illinois can afford,” Senator Bivins said. “And no tax hikes or higher fees are required to get these projects under way.”

The 45th District Senator said the capital program is fiscally responsible and geographically-balanced, and will allow projects to get under way during this construction season.
