The results of two statewide polls focusing on Illinois’ budget shortfall, and ethics and redistricting reform were released this week, according to Senator Tim Bivins.

The polls were conducted recently by the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute. Their results were released as legislators prepare to return to Springfield for the second half of the fall legislative veto session, starting October 28.

Senator Bivins said the discussion on redistricting reform will continue during an October 28 hearing in the Capitol. The Senate Redistricting Committee has met over the last few months to discuss redistricting and consider expert testimony on possible reforms to the current system.
