Senator Tim Bivins has introduced a series of “good government” reforms to get Illinois back on track and make state government more responsive to citizens.

Lawmakers returned to Springfield February 8.

“To use a favorite coaching analogy – if you don’t have fundamentals, you can’t execute offense or defense,” Senator Bivins said. “In the administration of government, you need to get back to basics in budgeting, in policy and procedures. Some of the legislation I am proposing provides changes needed to strengthen the fundamentals of ‘good government.’”

Among the bills he is sponsoring are measures to shorten the election season and post legislative salaries on the Internet." />
