Senator Tim Bivins has been asked to serve on the Illinois Joint Investigatory Panel on Early Release to determine the whereabouts of early release inmates and resolve unanswered questions about the details and community impact of Governor Pat Quinn’s “MGT Push” and early release programs.

Republican Leader Christine Radogno of Lemont and House Republican Leader Tom Cross of Oswego announced the formation of the panel August 5. Lawmakers and the public have been seeking answers about “MGT Push” since December 2009, but have been unsuccessful in getting the Quinn Administration to respond.

The Panel’s first meeting is scheduled from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., August 11, in 2nd Floor Auditorium of Arbor Hall on the Illinois Central College North campus at 5407 N. University in Peoria. The second meeting is scheduled from noon to 2:00 p.m., August 25, at the James R. Thompson Center in Chicago." />
