In anticipation of an enhanced role for Republican legislators in the coming year, Illinois Senate Republican Leader Christine Radogno of Lemont and other Republican lawmakers – including Senator Tim Bivins – have been traveling the state to make it clear that Senate Republicans are ready to work as partners to forge bipartisan solutions to the challenges facing Illinois.

In recent weeks, Senator Radogno, Senator Bivins and other GOP senators have visited with reporters and editorial boards in Freeport, the Quad Cities, Bloomington, Joliet, Arlington Heights, Decatur and other cities to outline the budget challenges facing Illinois and push reforms that will help put Illinois back on track.

These include commonsense Medicaid, workers’ compensation, education, ethics and budget reforms. Senator Bivins said the key message is that if Illinoisans reject the one-party rule that has characterized state government for most of the past decade, reforms and other good ideas that have been shunted aside will have a better opportunity to pass." />
