Setting the tone for cooperative, bipartisan budget negotiations, the Illinois Senate on March 7 adopted two legislative resolutions that set the state’s estimated general funds at $33.719 billion for the next fiscal year.

In other action, Senate and House committees met throughout the week as lawmakers acted on hundreds of bills to meet a March 9 deadline.
