Former Assistant Senate Republican Leader Todd Sieben (at left, in background) laughs at comments by Senator Tim Bivins during discussion of a resolution honoring Sieben for his more than 21 years of service as an Illinois lawmaker. Adopted by a unanimous vote May 22, Senate Resolution 728 notes that “. . . Sieben has represented his constituents in Springfield with determination and class, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues on both sides of the aisle.” It further states that “Lawmakers and staff alike know and appreciate Senator Sieben for his warmth, his kindness and his easy smile.” Sieben was also in Springfield May 22 to participate in a special Veterans Legislative Day sponsored by the Senate Republican Caucus. Sieben is a Vietnam veteran and served as a lieutenant in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1972.
