With a hard hat and shovel in hand, Senate Republicans went to work August 13, calling on Illinois’ Democrat leadership to “put aside the political gamesmanship, the inter-party conflicts and the hypocrisy.”

Senator Tim Bivins joined with Senate Republican Leader Frank Watson and their Senate Republican colleagues in calling for leadership and stating that Republicans are ready to work with business leaders, road builders, constituents and others interested in the state’s economic future.

“There is currently a clamor for change across the nation, but people need to stop and think. They only need to look to Illinois and see what kind of change we got here,” Senator Bivins said. “Six years ago, we were promised change and reform, but the change we got is higher taxes, more government regulation, 800,000 more people on the welfare rolls, and certainly more corruption. This is not the change we asked for or wanted.”
