Three northern Illinois Senators say Governor Rod Blagojevich has a simple option to keep open 11 state parks – sell one of his four state planes.

Senators Tim Bivins, Brad Burzynski of Clare and Dave Syverson of Rockford are sponsoring Senate Bill 3066, which asks the Secretary of Transportation to designate one of the state’s four planes as surplus property and have it sold as soon as possible. The proceeds of the sale are to be deposited equally into the State Parks Fund and the Parks and Conservation Fund.
